Methodology
Find your MP. State → parliamentary constituency is authoritative for Lok Sabha. PIN codes are mapped by dropping India Post office coordinates into DataMeet parliamentary constituency polygons. A PIN may map to more than one constituency; we list every match rather than pick one. A test or dummy PIN (for example an India Post “TEST OFFICE”) is refused rather than snapped to a nearby seat. Map tap and device location use the same polygons. Rajya Sabha members appear as a state list. Nominated members are not treated as anyone's local MP. Vacant seats (death, resignation, pending bye-election) are shown as vacant.
Parties. A party page lists sitting members Digital Sansad currently assigns to that party, with ministers grouped by Cabinet Secretariat rank. The snapshot is counts and listed medians (attendance among members who have sittings; pending-case members among parsed affidavits). Missing is excluded, not zero. We do not publish a party score or a coalition whip. Independents and nominated members appear under the affiliation Sansad lists.
Role. Rank is Member of Parliament unless the Cabinet Secretariat council-of-ministers list names them as Prime Minister, Cabinet, MoS (Independent Charge), or MoS. Portfolios are taken from that list (text-layer PDF) and from later CabSec change-in-portfolio letters when the newest PDF is a scan. Digital Sansad's in-council tab supplies the mpCode used to join a CabSec name to a person page; an unmatched CabSec row is never written onto the wrong MP. Most MPs do not run a department. The person page shows the CabSec as-of date.
Money. The scheme rule is ₹5 crore per year; we do not write that onto a person page unless eSAKSHI states a figure. Entitled is eSAKSHI's allocated limit for the current tenure (18th Lok Sabha, or a sitting Rajya Sabha term). Released is not a public-dashboard column, so it stays “not listed”. Sanctioned and spent are sums of the matching eSAKSHI reports. Unspent is allocated minus expenditure, labelled as such. A member with no eSAKSHI row is labelled not listed as of the fetch date, never ₹0. Amounts are integer rupees. Identity joins on name + house + constituency (Lok Sabha) or name + house + state (Rajya Sabha); unmatched eSAKSHI rows are never written onto the wrong MP.
Projects. Status comes from the dashboard stage: recommended, sanctioned, ongoing, completed. The MP recommends; the district executes. Lok Sabha works are in the parliamentary constituency. Rajya Sabha works are in chosen district(s) of the state. Nominated members may recommend works anywhere in India. The works map pins the district centroid from geoBoundaries / LGD (2021), matched to the eSAKSHI district name — not a geocoded work site. A name that does not match stays on the list only. We do not drop an unmatched work on 0,0 or on a neighbouring district.
Committees. Current seats come from Digital Sansad committee membership for the 18th Lok Sabha, and from the Rajya Sabha biodata offices-held table when that house's membership list is empty. Only seats still current as of the fetch date are shown. Chairperson is labelled chair; everything else is a member. University courts and similar offices are not parliamentary committees. An empty list means Digital Sansad listed no current seat — not a score.
House work. Attendance is sittings signed / sittings held for the current 18th Lok Sabha, or for a Rajya Sabha member's current term (from the term years on the sitting list). A sitting is a sitting of the House, not a day in Delhi. Ministers are often marked "not required" in the register — we still show the published signed count and keep the minister note; we do not rank-shame. Starred and unstarred question counts, debates, special mentions, and private member bills come from Digital Sansad. Person pages list the full current-term questions with ministry filters, each deep-linked to Sansad. Debates, special mentions, and private member bills appear as listed titles when Digital Sansad publishes them — not PRS averages. /questions searches the full current-term index by subject, ministry, state, and house — ministry + case-insensitive text, not an LLM topic tag. /ministries groups those listed rows by ministry (case, punctuation, and a few Sansad listing typos such as "HIGH WAYS"). A CabSec portfolio is shown when the name matches; we do not guess Health from Health and Family Welfare. You may follow a sitting member, a constituency PIN (or a seat, when a PIN maps to more than one), or a ministry by email — no account. A member or PIN digest is a new listed question or a new listed eSAKSHI work, not a change in House counts. A PIN follow stays with the seat: if the sitting Lok Sabha member changes, the follow does not move to the old person. A ministry digest is a new listed question or a change in the listed Union Budget Estimate. When Digital Sansad lists a Lok Sabha sitting date, a PIN or seat follow also gets a morning note with listed questions from that MP. We do not invent a sitting from the session start–end window. That count is listed rows, not a score. Union Budget rupees come from the Expenditure Budget summary (Budget Estimates, net of receipts and recoveries). We join a ministry to that table when the name matches after stripping "Ministry of" / "Department of" and a few official spelling variants (Fertilisers/Fertilizers, Forests/Forest). Unmatched ministries stay not listed, never ₹0. We do not invent a ministry total by adding up demands. A member with no published attendance row is labelled not listed, never 0/0. The House chapter also shows the latest listed session for that House: sittings held, questions in the current-term index, and median attendance among members who have that session row. That is context for the raw counts, not a productivity percentage — Digital Sansad does not publish hours lost to adjournment here, so we do not invent one. We do not publish a composite performance rank.
Affidavits. When the ECI portal listed a PDF for the election that seated this term, the person page links it. Structured fields (education, assets, liabilities, cases) appear only when that PDF parsed cleanly. Pending is not convicted. Case text is copied, not summarised. Identity joins on constituency + name (Lok Sabha) or state + name + term year (Rajya Sabha); unmatched rows are never written onto the wrong MP. A messy or scanned PDF is the file only — no guessed rupees, education, or case counts. Rajya Sabha members are often not listed yet. MyNeta/ADR is never used to fill a gap.
Refresh. Person pages show the last sourced snapshot from Digital Sansad, the Cabinet Secretariat, eSAKSHI, and the ECI portal. Find-your-MP stays a form over the PIN and constituency index. Unmatched source rows are never written onto a person page. If a later snapshot is missing, the site keeps the last sourced figures rather than inventing new ones.
Language. Home, find, and person-page chrome can switch to Hindi labels in the header. Names, constituencies, work titles, committee names, and letter drafts stay as published (usually English). This is a label dictionary, not a second site or a /hi route. The preference stays on this device.
Letters. Profile drafts use the published Digital Sansad email and postal addresses. They are starting copy with blanks for the citizen to fill. Open in mail, copy, or print / save PDF on this device. We do not send mail to members. Three RTI drafts sit on every person page (House attendance and questions to the House Secretariat; MPLADS works to MoSPI / the district authority; the election affidavit to the ECI). An RTI is a request to a Public Information Officer, not a letter to the MP; we link rtionline.gov.in and do not file anything. Drafts do not include a performance score or an invented ₹0.
